Sea turtles have a unique structure both interior and exterior.
~Exterior parts
Sea turtles are know to have a thick/cutting and clipping tonium. The beak is an unusual figure, with a aged edge/thin slicing for defending and eating. Inside the beak includes the tongue(no teeth) which helps sea turtles swallow and catch their food. It also helps to excrete salt. The olfactory of the sea turtle a scientific term for the nose or nostril. This sense helps this mammal to smell any predators, preys and location. Sea turtles have little internal ears and eyes used for a little sound hearing and the capability for seeing in and out of water. A sea turtle has a short neck, so they CANNOT hide or go inside of their shell. Under the chin of the sea turtle, barbels lay; to detect food/predators and sense. As the most obvious part of a sea turtle, is their special shell. A sea turtle's shell has two parts the carpus(top shell) and the plastron(bottom shell). On the top shell there are unique patterns called scutes, and on the bottom shell there is a shade of dark an light colors used for camouflage. At the edge of the shell is a little short sea turtle tail it is approximately 2 or inches. Sea turtles most importantly have fins and flippers to help them swim and dig holes for their nest for the babies! The fin and flippers are not fit for crawling on land.
~interior parts
Sea turtles have a interesting inside as well as the out. Ever wonder how sea turtles have the capability to hold their breath for a long period of time under the water. Well, sea turtles have a chambered heart that slows down their heart beat (1 beat could be as slow as 9minutes). Thats why sea turtles can live their life in the ocean because they have the capability. Not only does their heart support their body but their lungs also. Sea turtles have amazing lungs, it helps them to hold their breaths without a problem. Other parts of the sea turtle are, mouth captivity(the inner part of the jaw), Stomach(holds all food), bladder(holds urine), duodenum(the 1st small intestine beyond the stomach leading to the jejunum, avary(were the eggs are kept), esophagus(tube to the stomach/muscular wall with papillae lining lunch). And other interior parts like the, kidney, rectum, liver, tranchea, pancreas and the anus.
